In the story, the protagonist joins the resistance movement and becomes a secret agent, whose task is to get as close as possible to the enemy in the face of the mega-corporation and uncover an impressive worldwide conspiracy. The hero of the game is a certain Adam Jensen - a man whose body half consists of perfect prostheses and modules. The latter were rejected by the first and turned into outcasts, forced to survive under the yoke of the "pure". On the one hand, there are ordinary people, on the other, people who have resorted to mechanical augmentation to improve their bodies and acquire new superhuman abilities.
